One of the most exciting ventures that Sovda went on this last year was launching its very own podcast. We had the honor and pleasure of hosting some of the most innovative and passionate leaders in the coffee industry.
Here’s what our Technical Brand Ambassador and Podcast Host, Nicholas Flatoff, had to say about the first season of Sovda’s podcast:
“My favorite part of the podcast is frankly getting people’s industry predictions and what they are excited about. It’s a very unique situation to be able to speak to so many people who have a uniform perspective on business goals but unique ways of reaching those goals.
“It gives me a lot of confirmation that the industry is going to continue to get better and be a fun industry to work in and that we will increase in honoring every part of the supply chain—the products and people.”

Our two-part interview with Jess Steffy, co-owner of Square One Coffee Roasters, gave us a front-row look into how optical sorting actually improves the user’s experience. As someone with a great palette and responsible for purchasing quality coffees for Square One, Jess talks about how optical sorting quakers out of their coffee improved their coffees by a couple of points.

The interview with Kyle Ramage from Black & White Coffee Roasters is another podcast that is technical but covers all aspects of the industry: sensory, equipment, processing, to the chemical compounds we taste in coffee.
